The chequered flag is out for our third year in the British 24 Hour. After our first lap crash and 22 minute repair job, we were always going to be up against it.
Despite the 'what if's we have finished in the top half both overall and in the Clubman class.
Well done to all five drivers for never giving up and using the setback as fuel to race even harder.

16 hours after our lap one incident, our chassis finally gave up and cracked at the collision point, requiring a new kart to swap into. The new kart is much slower, however there isn't long to go.
As I write this, George has just come in for an unscheduled stop as it appears one of the engines has given up under full course yellow.

Adam is currently finishing up his stint under the moonlight, about to hand over to Alex in 15 minutes. We are in the thick of the hire class now, with shorter gaps between positions on our comeback.

Right at the end of his stint, Zain has raised the bar again with a 1:21.141s lap.
George has gone out to chase this lap, but has had a track rod mysteriously break just 10 laps in. We were able to time this with our maintenance stop, however the repairs have cost us around 3 minutes more.

All five drivers have now been out for their first stints and the kart has held up great. As the temperatures drop, lots of teams are setting new personal bests.

Laurence is in great spirits after completing his stint post-crash. At rib bend, he was truned around on the blind exit, and then proceeded to be hit by four karts at full speed - two of which flew out their kart onto the track. Hopefully all other drivers are ok.
Despite this, he came within 1 tenth of the TYR lap record at this track. Somehow after replacing one wheel and a sprocket, the kart has become faster. Make of that what you will about Teesside's karts.
Zain has jumped into the kart 3 places from last due to the crash. If the kart stays working this might be an exciting hot lapping competiton.

Laurence has had by far the biggest crash we have ever seen as a team. We genuinely don't konw how, but he is well enough to continue. There is a video but it is a very hard watch.
We join 20 minutes into the race with a new engine and new rear wheels. hopefully the chassis survived so we can still see out our 23 hour practice session.

We were one of the only teams able to stay out of the mechanics bay in practice, with everyone getting around 25 mins of driving time to get up to speed. Although our engines aren't spectacular, the chassis feels like one of our best and we were able to break into the 1:21s already. As it stands, either Laurence or George will be doing qualifying. The livery is looking fresh thanks c/o Hux Designs.
